Professional HVAC maintenance saves money and prevents crises

Why do HVAC systems break down?

Plan ahead! Avoid crisis! Schedule your regular HVAC maintenance and service

There’s nothing worse than an air conditioner blowing hot air when it’s 90 degrees outside. Except perhaps a heater blowing cold air in the dead of winter.

Two possible reasons this happens:

  1. Something has broken down and needs to be fixed – nothing lasts forever
  2. Proper care of the system has been neglected, and small, fixable problems turned into big costly problems

Reason #2 is the far more common one.

But even aside from a crisis, you may feel like the performance of your air conditioner, heat pump, or furnace just isn’t what it used to be. Your heating bills creep upward each year. This is what can happen when a unit has to work harder to get the same results. And this is often caused by a lack of maintenance and care.

If you need help performing regular HVAC maintenance and service, give us a call and get on the schedule.

It usually only takes one or two quick visits per year to keep your system working at peak performance and efficiency.

HVAC Maintenance Tasks

Common AC maintenance issue - dirty and clogged filters

When Bob comes out to maintain your HVAC system, his general checklist for air conditioner, heat pump, furnace, and air handler maintenance includes:

  • Cleaning or replacing filters – a major cause of inefficient energy use, as well as poor performance
  • Removing encrusted buildup on the unit – a major cause of poor efficiency
  • Cleansing micro-organisms, mold, and other foulness. Getting sick all the time? This could be the reason
  • Preventing leaks
  • Lubrication of moving parts
  • Removing leaves and debris clogging the outdoor AC unit or the furnace exhaust pipes
  • Checking the thermostat batteries

Some of these you may be able to do yourself. Also – you can do some basic troubleshooting using this simple 3-step guide.

However, if you’re not physically able to do this kind of work, or if you just don’t have time to hassle with it, then have B&C Comfort come out and do it for you.

Keep your system working at peak efficiency.
